FKA (NO)

Forum for Korean Adoptees

FKA (Forum for Korean Adoptees) Norway was officially established in 1990 by adult Korean adoptees for adult Korean adoptees in Norway. Today we have 4 divisions, in the 4 largest cities in Norway (Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Stavanger).

Besides our 4 local divisions, FKA have a main BOD consisting BOD members from the different local divisions. This is the national BOD that represents FKA nationally and international. FKA is still a very young organisation. This year there is a lot new BOD members in all the divisions, and we hope for some positive changes.

FKA is a non-political and non-religious organisation and it is financed through membership and own activities. Our main purpose is to bring Korean adoptees in Norway together to share experiences, learn more about our mutural background, birthcountry, post adoption identity and so on.

All the FKA local division have different arrangements like seminars, social meeting, and members meeting (once in a month). Christmas party, is of course, the biggest event of the year. This year the date is Saturday, November 27.th. 7.pm.

Everyone in FKA has their own reason to be a member of the organisation. What we do have in common is that we are all born in the “land of the Morning calm” and adopted to Norway.

Today there are 7000 Korean adoptees in Norway and FKA want to be there for those who want to share experiences and learn more about Korea.
