Created in 1995 by young adopted adults, « Racines Coréennes » is, above all, a place of meeting and exchange of experiences around the theme of adoption. This association then suggests a thought about the identity of the adoptee and his relationships with society and family. “Racines Coréennes” , made up by volunteers, also offers, to whom it may wish, to “softly” go in search of the Korean culture along with preserving own choices.

Mostly composed by adoptees, their relatives and nearest and dearest, but also Korean residents and students, as well as people concerned by Korean culture
Activities
- Monthly dinner in a Korean restaurant : every last Sundays of the month at 1:30 p.m
- Annual Conference at the “Palais du Luxembourg”
Treated topics, for instance : “the four parents of the adoptee”,, “Integration” “Adoption : breakdown or carry on”, “one’s sight, others’ sight”
- Sollal, Lunar New Year Each year in February. Korean meal, workshops and Korean traditional shows, election of Miss Hanbok, raffle. About 350 persons.
- Educational and linguistic trip to Korea In summer time, two weeks package tour followed by one week free tour. 15 to 20 participants. Korean lessons, sightseeing, possibility to consult its files.
- Yearly sportive meeting. Beginning of May invited by the Association of Korean residents in France.
- Dance party with Korean buffet and Korean pop music !
Communication
Quarterly magazine Hamkae (“Together”). About Korean culture and Korean current events, share of experiences and thoughts about adoption. Website (www.racinescoreennes.org), with newsgroup and mailing list.
Other
Members of Conseil Supérieur de l’Adoption” (CSA), process of consultation, under the guardianship of the Family and Justice Ministry. “Racines Coréennes” sits in CSA since 2002, as the representative of overseas adoptees.
Charity achievement. On each membership of 35 Euro, 5 Euro are transferred to the Association “Rayon de Soleil de l’Enfant Etranger” for the sponsorship of the overseas child.
